Nanocomp Technologies President and CEO Peter Antoinette to speak at National Nanotechnology Initiative’s Nanotechnology Innovation Summit

Washington, D.C.— Nanotechnology Innovation Summit — December 6, 2010 — Nanocomp Technologies Inc., a developer of energy-saving performance materials and component products from carbon nanotubes (CNTs), today announced that its President and CEO Peter Antoinette will be a featured speaker at the National Nanotechnology Initiative’s (NNI) annual Nanotechnology Innovation Summit. Antoinette will be a speaker on the panel “Innovations in Electronics and Manufacturing” on Thursday, December 9th at 4:50 p.m. EST, and will be joined by three other industry experts to explore trends in manufacturing practices for nanotechnologies. The summit also features keynote presentations by John Holdren, policy director White House Office of Science & Technology and Science & Technology Advisor to President Barack Obama; Steven Chu, secretary of U.S. Department of Energy; and Kaigham Gabriel, deputy director of DARPA.

The panelists will discuss how nanotechnology is being used to improve the performance of electronics in various industries. Antoinette will highlight how Nanocomp’s CNT yarns and sheets can be incorporated into the manufacturing processes for a range of aerospace and defense products, and will touch on manufacturing best practices for CNT materials.

About the Speaker

Peter Antoinette co-founded Nanocomp Technologies, Inc. in 2004 and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to founding Nanocomp Technologies, Peter was the President and CEO of Cambridge Research & Instrumentation Inc., Woburn, Mass., an early stage liquid crystal technology company, where he commercialized optical products for telecommunications and high performance imaging systems.  Previously, he spent a fifteen year career with Millipore Corporation, a Fortune 500 leader in separations technology. He is the holder of one patent and co-inventor of several pending patents. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the New Hampshire High Technology Council, is a member of the National Science Foundation’s Center for High-Rate Nanomanufacturing Industrial Advisory Board and is a member of United States Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s Small Business Advisory Council.
