Since 2001, Michael has served as President of CEI Community Ventures (CCV), an early stage venture capital fund based in Maine. In the context of this role, Michael led the Series A round for Nanocomp and operates as the lead investor-director on the Company's Board. In addition, Michael led the Series A round for Rustic Crust, a New Hampshire manufacturer of pizza products; he has served as Board Chair for Rustic since 2005. Michael presently serves on the steering committees of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of New Hampshire and the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund's Flexible Capital Fund.
From 1996-2000, Michael held marketing, business development, and product management roles in early stage ventures in the healthcare and software fields. From 1987-90 in Boston and from 1992-1996 in London, Michael was an Investment Principal with Advent International, a global private equity fund. Michael graduated Babson College with a BS Finance in 1984 and received an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business in 1992.
