John is an accomplished executive with over 35 years of hands-on operational experience in a variety of sales, marketing, and engineering leadership roles. In addition, John has a broad background in U.S. Government technology acquisition processes, which has enabled him to effectively serve Nanocomp’s extensive government customer base over the past 8 years.
Prior to joining Nanocomp, John was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for DTC Communications, a Cobham plc company, where he oversaw record orders performance selling microwave communications products to the DoD robotics and military/law enforcement surveillance market. In addition, John was part of the executive team responsible for achieving the company's initial ISO 9001:2000 registration.
Before DTC, John was the Vice President of Marketing for Viisage Technology, where he successfully led a major re-branding and product launch of the company's technology. While at Viisage, John participated in a number of M&A transactions as a key member of the management team.
John also has a demonstrated track record in start-up environments. He initiated and led the product management function for Cerulean Technology, a wireless communications software company. As Vice President of Marketing, John was instrumental in leading the company's growth from 75 to over 3000 customers, which was a vital contributing factor to the successful sale of Cerulean to Aether Systems for $150M.
John holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Lowell, MA and is a frequent technical speaker and writer.
